Her heart beats fast
hoping it will last
this excitement she feels
inside she squeals
she counted down the days
until she would land
from the sky above
between her toes, she feels the sand
the day has come!
she is on her way,
awaiting the chance
to once again laugh. to play.
like they once did
it feels so long ago
many things have changed
this she does know
she hopes
with all her heart
the friendships she once had
will be revived and restart
all the things they do
not a single will she regret
she is determined to make it memorable
the barrier of distance will be off-set
but is it possible?
can they make it work?
this thought in her head
continues to lurk
she brushes it aside
no longer she'll hide
she's determined to make it great
starting out with a clean slate
once again
her heart begins its fast pace
into the arms of her friends
she's ready to race
